Middle Years ProgramMiddle Years Programme – The MYP is a coherent and comprehensive curriculum which provides a frame- work of academic challenge and life skills appropriate for students in grades nine and ten. It serves as excellent preparation for the Diploma Programme. In MYP, students are required to enroll in a subject from eight subject groups: English, History, Technology, Mathematics, Arts, Sciences, Physical Education and World Language.

Diploma ProgramDiploma students are required to choose one subject from each of six subject groups which are: English, History of the Americas/Psychology, Mathematics or Math Studies, Art or a second Science, Biology or Chemistry or Physics, and World Language. Students must have two concurrent years of these subjects to be prepared for IB exams at the end of the second year (grade 12).

Community, Action, Service (CAS)CAS is the center of the International Baccalaureate Program. It incorporates student activities with academic studies throughout the programme. Students must complete CAS hours to remain in the IB program.
The Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) requirement is based on the student’s grade level. • MYP – 9th grade, 35 community service hours; 10th grade, 40 hours • DP – 150 hours (junior and senior years) |
Theory of Knowledge (TOK)Diploma students must also enroll in a Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course; a paper is also required. This course heightens students’ personal awareness as well as the world around him or her. TOK focuses on the following:

Extended Essay (EE)
Diploma students are also required to write an extended essay, a 4,000-word research paper based on an original question posed by the student on a topic of their choice. Students must choose a school faculty member to serve as their supervisor of the essay throughout the writing process. |
